Tempography is a new international art form that examines the
unexplored zone between the moving and the still image. The pieces are
called "tempographs". They are still images extended in time. Each
piece must be less than 30 seconds long. They are shown in sequences,
with black before and after.
A tempograph is a brief visual impact creating an atmosphere.
Tempographs are silent, and this provides the pieces with a hypnotic
quality.
THIS IS AN OPEN CALL FOR VIDEO ART PIECES to a group exhibition that
will take place at the Cinema Zita in central Stockholm, starting
August 4, 2006. Deadline is July 15.
The project has, so far, 13-15 participants from countries in Europe and America. Tempography is growing.
How do you view the world? What minimal changes in the moving world does your curious eye discover? Please have a look at the website: www.tempography.org for more information, and for the ever-important guidelines.
The submitted pieces will be part of the Tempotheque — the entire collection of tempographs. Through that, they will also automatically be included in future group shows internationally.
