VIDEO POOL FUNDS FOR MEMBERS

There are four funds members may apply for at Video Pool; New Artist in New Media, Media Production, Wendy Geller and the Artist in Residence Program.  Artists may only hold one fund at a time at Video Pool.  For more information about these funds and your eligibility, please contact Przemek Pyszczek, Programming Coordinator at vpprogramming@videopool.org or 949-9134 ext. 1

NEW ARTIST in NEW MEDIA FUND - November 1, 2009
A production and professional development fund for emerging artists in all avenues of new media; documentary, audio, installation, video art, narrative, animation, etc.  Five recipients will be selected.  The fund is supported with assistance from the National Film Board of Canada and William F. White.

  • a full Annual Access Membership at Video Pool valued at $550
  • $400 tape stock / materials
  • 20 hours with a mentor
  • 30 ‘flex ‘ credits to use for workshops , one on one instruction or tech assistance

One of the five recipients will receive the new Drama Fund, which includes everything listed above plus;

  • $1,000 worth of equipment credit from William F. White (insurance is also provided)

MEDIA PRODUCTION FUND - June 1, 2009 & November 1, 2009

A production fund for artists which includes a professional development component.  Four recipients will be selected each year.

  • a full Annual Access Membership at Video Pool valued at $550
  • $400 tape stock / materials
  • 20 ‘flex ‘ credits to use for workshops , one on one instruction or tech assistance

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE (International) -  TBA
                                           

Bi-annual residency and project support for a senior level artist.

  • $4000 artist fee
  • a full Annual Access Membership at Video Pool valued at $550
  • $400 tape stock / materials
  • 60 ‘flex ‘ credits to use for workshops, one on one instruction or tech assistance
  • Required to do studio visits and conduct a: lecture, presentation, or workshop.

The current 2008-2009 Artist in Residence is local media artist, Murray Toews. Stay tuned to the 2009 programming schedule for event listings.
