1983    Founded and incorporated January 19, in Winnipeg, Canada
1984    Workshops begun
1985    Women Artists in Video (WAIV) collective supporting women’s productions
1988    First full-time Distribution Coordinator hired
1989-92    Video Drive In outdoor screenings; Ex-Patria screening and lecture series
1992    Artist in Residence (A.I.R.) and First Video Fund (FVF) programs begun
1993    Shades of a Different Colour workshops for visible minorities; Making Sense with Sound exhibition
1994-97    The Video Installation Project
1994    Programming included For A Radio, pirate radio broadcast; Sanja Ivekovic (Croatia) 5 week artist residency, talk and screening; Van TV, programming of video installations in parking lots; Sara Diamond screening
1995    Media Production Fund introduced; Web site & online distribution catalogue developed; Programming included Light/Light, offsite, multimedia performance event; Vice Versa Lesbian Video and Film Festival; Myrel Chernick (USA) 8 week residency, talk and screening
1996    Wendy Geller Fund established; Partnership with CIGMO groups on media development project; First Nations Video Workshops; Programming included Blender TV, 7 half hours of artists’ videos produced with VPW-TV; Technology Is (Just) a Tool screenings and symposia
1997    Video A - Z, year long workshops for underprivileged youth; Educational Coordinator hired; VP on CD, compilation of work from Video Pool’s A.I.R. program; Programming included Global Attic Video Festival (Winnipeg, Rotterdam), NY/Winnipeg video exchange
1998    Programming included Wendy Geller, Tony Labat & Nam Jun Paik; Send + Receive festival of international audio art established
1999    Expansion of facilities to 2 floors in the Artspace building; Construction of archival vault to preserve videos; Cyber Skins First Peoples’ residencies, talks and screenings
2000    Magnetic North screenings, tour and publication; Poolside TV program
2001    In Between: The Sound of Music audio CD of work produced at Video Pool; Presented work by David Hoffos, AA Bronson, Laiwan, Elizabeth Vander Zaag
2002    Video Pool and Winnipeg Film Group establish joint membership
2003    Walking and Being touring exhibition begins; Canada/UK Exchange, video screenings in UK & Canada
2004    Exhibition space in the Artspace building acquired; Programming Coordinator hired
2005     Animator/Reanimator curated package tours to Japan
2006      High School credit course in media production established with School Division 1; Strategic Plan created
2007    Northern Aboriginal Artist Fund (one-month mentorship and production residency) established (participants Apetagon & Carriere); Fast Forward program for at-risk youth established; Winnipeg 19 curated package tours to Japan
